About NickFinder.me

NickFinder.me is a decoder for decorated names. When you see a name like ꧁༒☬rahul☬༒꧂ in a game lobby or a chat list, the site is built to show you the plain name inside it, name every character with its Unicode code point and script, and give you a clean version you can copy and rebuild.

Who runs NickFinder.me

The site is run by the NickFinder.me editorial team. We do not publish under invented names, and no real person’s or company’s identity is attached to this site. You can reach the team at [email protected].

What the site does, and for whom

Players and social media users in India and South Asia often copy a decorated name without knowing which characters it contains, why it shows as boxes on some phones, or how to make a similar one. NickFinder.me works in the reverse direction first: it explains a name you already have, and only then helps you build one of your own.

How the character readings are produced

  • Every character is reported with its official Unicode code point (for example U+A9C1), its official Unicode character name and its script property, taken from the Unicode Character Database.
  • Combining marks, such as the strike and underline marks in ⏤͟͟͞➼, are reported as combining marks, not as separate symbols.
  • When a string uses a game-specific system, such as colour codes or badge glyphs, the page says which system it belongs to. When we do not know, the page says so instead of guessing.
  • Every glyph is shown as real text you can copy, never as a picture.

What the decoder cannot do

It cannot tell you whether a game will accept a name today; each game sets and changes its own name rules. It cannot recover a name that was typed as an image or a font inside an app. And it will not reproduce a string that decodes to a slur; that result is reported as “not shown”.

Data and sources

Character names and properties come from the Unicode Standard and are used under the Unicode Terms of Use, with credit to unicode.org. Changes to our character data are recorded with a date.

Independent site

NickFinder.me is not a game site and offers no game services. Free Fire, BGMI, Instagram, Steam, WhatsApp, Facebook and Hago are trademarks of their respective owners; NickFinder.me is independent of all of them.
